This was the 7th Annual Clogging BBQ hosted by Birgit & Len at their house. It was a cold, wet day so everything was moved into the garage. With so many people and a heater it was cozy warm.
It was one of the coldest wettest Canada Days ever! But our gang clogged all the way through the parade route. There were lots of spectators and there was no issue with anyone overheating.
Janice Jestin was the instructor for the Holiday Ranch camping weekend one last time before retirement.
Our annual club windup night was after the show so that all could relax and enjoy it. After the potluck supper the cloggers surprised Birgit with a slideshow they made to say thanks for 25 years of fun. Then all joined in some fun dancing to finish up the season.
Our club got it's start in 1994 with Birgit teaching a class to 13 new dancers through community services. The club now has about 50 members and 4 different levels with classes Tuesday mornings for experienced dancers and Thursday evening for all levels. This show showcased some new dances as well as club favourites over the years. 42 dancers took part. Thanks to all for creating a wonderful event for the club and for the community!
These pictures are from a different angle taken by one of our MCs. With our 25th Anniversary show only days away our club had a full dress rehearsal. We took the opportunity to take pics of the groups doing each dance as there wouldn't be time on the night of the show. |
